Nuria and Irma, 2011
The monumentally-scaled work, Nuria and Irma encourages you to see the landscape through the sculpture. These large-scale sculptures are conceived as transparent structures that blend in with the context of the local landscape. Situated next to the remains of an abandoned cellar hole on the field below the Big Top, the viewer is able to first see the work from a distance and then walk closer to examine from different angles and perspectives, all while seeing the surrounding trees, grasses and sky framed by the sculpture.
